We work to end the danger, threat, and violence from various deaths and traffic that blights communities and affects families across the length and breadth of Nigeria.

We also work nationwide to save lives, fight against injuries and deaths and support the less-privileged who have lost everything due to natural disaster, war and conflicts or disease and improve their health, safety and well-being. Emergency Response

An emergency can happen at any time or at any place in a situation demanding immediate action. The goal is to provide the basics of First Aid and Emergency Care to any emergency appropriately in order to save a life. We provide the three 'C's Check, Call and Care and three P's of First Aid:
Preserve Life: As a first responder to any situation, our first priority is to preserve life
Prevent Deterioration: To do what we can, to keep the victim in stable condition until medical professionals arrive.

COVID-19 Response

We help to prevent the spread of COVID-19, by providing necessary support to cushion the impact of the crisis in some of the high risk communities and to ensure their access to basic need, food aid continues to make up the majority of humanitarian appeals and remains an important tool in responding to crises during the lock down in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has affected the lives of some of the most vulnerable communities across the nation, such as single parents, orphan, artisans and widows.

Fire Safety

More than $8.2 billion worth of properties have been lost to fire in various part of Nigeria between 2009 to 2022 and the worst of fire season is still ahead. TSSF helps provide emotional financial, food, temporary shelter, clothing, medical supplies and give assistance to victims who have been injured, become ill or suffered a traumatic event. Fire is everyone's fight is an initiative led by the TSSF with the intent to unite the Fire Service in collaborative effort to reduce home fire injuries, deaths and property loss. TSSF Invites fire departments safety advocates community groups, schools, etc. to rally behind a common and compelling theme. This will assist us in communicating and reinforcing key lessons from proven fire safety and prevention initiatives and programs.

Disaster Response

In order to rebuild a community after a natural disaster, there must be an immediate response from governments and disaster relief programs. We are the first responder when disaster struck anytime, anywhere, to mitigate the effects of a disastrous event to prevent any further loss of live and or property and restore order in its immediate aftermath and re-establish normality. Those affected need access to resources like food, shelter and medical care and working to lessen the burden of the impacts of natural disasters around the globe. Road Traffic Safety-Victim Service

TSSF support less-privileged who have been bereaved, or who have suffered a serious injury in a road crash, this service also extends to anyone who supports someone bereaved or injured in a road crash...Please contact our victim support helpline; support@tssf.org.ng. We are in a mission to eliminate poverty and hunger through the distribution of quality surplus food. We collect perishable food from places like supermarkets, wholesalers, food manufacturers, farmers, bottling companies, catering companies and distribute directly to widows, vulnerable children and families. Orphans and Widows Support

There are so many orphan children in nearly every rural communities in Nigeria, many of these children have been abandoned by their parents or their patents have died. Orphan Children are greatly in need of care and protection, being among the most vulnerable to extreme poverty, child labour, trafficking and sexual exploitation. The Shield Safety Foundation help vulnerable children experience love through the provision of shelter, food, health, and well-being. Families and Community Support

Families and communities remain central to the well-being of all who are part of them-from the very young to the old. But in these modern day kidnapping for ransom has become Nigeria's latest security problem. This is happening to apocalyptic proportions in North Western and South-Western Nigeria where rural bandits engaged. Kidnapping can be targeted at individuals or at groups. School children have been kidnapped in groups in various communities of nigeria. Women and girls from the age of 16 years old, and are held captive to deliver babies which are then sold illegally to adoptive parents, forced into child labour, trafficked into prostitution or, ritually killed. TSSF provide survivors with food, cloth, medical treatment and supplies including education to rebuild their life to a productive lifestyle...Lets join hands and change the world today.

Education and Training

A looming education crisis - We conducted a research in the mid-2019 and we discovered that education has suffered greatly in the midst of the crisis. At least more than 150 primary schools remain closed because of the insecurity in the far north, it is estimated that about 30,000 school-aged children are out of school. Teachers have fled without returning, and most schools lack basic equipment to host students... The Shield Safety Foundation is committed to providing education for children and young adults in delicate settings, many of whom are at risk of dropping out or being left behind. Our vision is for education to be fundamentally lifesaving and life-transforming. Ultimately, we want education to equip children and young people to be the architects and guardians of their own and their communities' futures.

CoSERR (Community Safety and Emergency Rapid Response)

TSSF provide immediate assistance to maintain life, improve health and support the morale of the affected population, such assistance ranges from providing specific but limited aid, such as transport, temporary shelter and food establishing semi-permanent settlement in camps and other location.

It is about feeling safe whether, at home on the street or at work, it relates to quality of life and being able to pursue and obtain the fullest benefits from your domestic social and economic lives without fear or hinderance from crime and disorder.

Safeguarding

It is the policy of The Shield Safety Foundation to safeguard and protect populations with whom we work, including children and adults who may be particularly vulnerable. The Shield Safety Foundation has policies on child safeguarding, on protection from sexual exploitation and abuse, on safeguarding adults at risk and on preventing trafficking in persons. The Shield Safety Foundation safeguards populations by creating awareness among staff of what safeguarding violations are; by prohibiting safeguarding violations; and by enforcing mechanisms to address complaints about suspected safeguarding violations. The Shield Safety Foundation recognizes that all beneficiaries of our programs have the right to be protected from safeguarding violations, and strives to incorporate protection measures within our programming.

Research and Development

The Shield Safety Foundation is a community of researchers, decision- makers, practitioners, and community service organisation with a common interest in better understanding how social-economic and health factors impinge on the coping and adaptation capacities of disadvantaged communities in the context of climate change. The objective is to work towards alleviating social vulnerability.
