Kidnapping can be targeted at individuals or at groups. School children have been kidnapped in groups in various communities of Nigeria. Women and girls from the age of 16 years old, and are held captive to deliver babies which are then sold illegally to adoptive parents, forced into child labour, trafficked into prostitution or, ritually killed.
