Biola, joined TSSF as a volunteer in March 2022 and became a member of the Board of Trustees in January 2023 having worked for more than two decades as a researcher in public, private, and voluntary sectors. He is ready to implement methods that can account for specific challenges facing the foundation. He has gained extensive experience as a researcher and practitioner over the years on how to mitigate and adapt to many of the common challenges. He will play a critical role in helping the foundation assess and address the needs of affected populations and also equipping decision makers - both at the programmatic and policy level -with the high quality evidence that is needed. He will help in both situations and particularly for establishing what works and make the foundation understand how, where, and why it works, and carry out all stages of the humanitarian cycle; preparedness, response, recovery, prevention and mitigation.
